WHAT:

The Seminar involving the same organizations that took part in the training course will  aim at dealing with the feedback and reflection on implemented tools in real-life situations of EVS projects and with EVS Volunteers. The seminar will focus on refining the tools, so as to create a useful ToolKit that will then be disseminated to other organizations involved in International EVS volunteering projects all over Europe.

Evs Video Combetition & Award II

Our goal...

Through the video volunteers should show a common European spirit identity and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as a community. Also refer to the hosting organisations and promotion their roles in the community as well as the contribution of volunteers for implementation the performance of NGOs objectives. Priority will be given to the video that presents the voluntary spirit throughout the EVS experience of the European Volunteers in Cyprus.

Important Information:

1. Films must not exceed 4+1/2 minutes. Any entry beyond the length requirement would be disqualified. 
2. A group of volunteers must submit their film not individuals.
3. Entries must be independently produces and not produced by commercial producers....
4. All interested participants must submit the following:
• Fill up the Entry Form
• A copy of the short film in DVD and AVI, MOV, .MP4 HD format, properly labeled with the title, name of participant, name of organisation and duration. 
• One page synopsis of the film
• Submit your films via email evyouthcy@gmail.com
5. Create | Edit | Submit by 5.06.2015

The award night will be on Wednesday 10.06.2015  at 19:30 to Evyouth house: anchialou 1, 1080 Ayioi Omoloyites, Nicosia 

Ο στόχος μας

Ο κύριος στόχος του μικρού μήκους ταινίας είναι η προώθηση του προγράμματος ΕVS. Μέσα από το βίντεο οι εθελοντές πρέπει να δείξουν ένα κοινό πνεύμα ευρωπαϊκής ταυτότητας και να προσφέρουν πρακτικά παραδείγματα Ευρωπαίων που ζουν μαζί ως μία κοινότητα. Επίσης να γίνει αναφορά στους οργανισμούς φιλοξενίας και προώθηση των ρόλων τους στην κοινότητα όπως και η συμβολή των εθελοντών για υλοποίηση και εκτέλεση των στόχων των ΜΚΟ. Προτεραιότητα θα δοθεί στο βίντεο που αντιπροσωπεύει το εθελοντικό πνεύμα μέσω της EVS εμπειρίας που είχαν οι Ευρωπαίοι εθελοντές στη Κύπρο.

Σημαντικές Πληροφορίες

1. Η ταινία μικρού μήκους δεν πρέπει να υπερβαίνει τα 4 λεπτά και 30 δευτερόλεπτα. Ταινίες που δεν ακολουθούν αυτό τον κανόνα θα απορρίπτονται.
2. Κάθε ομάδα να στέλνει τη ταινία μια φορά και όχι από κάθε εθελοντή ξεχωριστά.
3. Οι ταινίες να μην είναι παραγωγή από εμπορικούς παραγωγούς.
4. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα πρέπει να στείλουν τα πιο κάτω:
• Να συμπληρώσουν την φόρμα συμμετοχής
• Αντίτυπο της ταινίας σε DVD σε μορή ΑVI, MOV. MP4 σε υψηλή ποιότητα, με ένα τίτλο. 
• Μια σελίδα περίληψη της ταινίας
• Οι ταινίες να σταλούν στο email: evyouthcy@gmail.com
5. Ημέρα παράδοσης των πιο κάτω μέχρι: 5.06.2015

Θα γίνει παράδοση του βραβείου την Τετάρτη 10.06.2015  και ώρα 19:30 στον οργανισμό, στην πιο κάτω διεύθυνση: Αγχιάλου 1, 1080 Άγιοι Ομολογητές, Λευκωσία

Volunteering, Youth participation, International Volunteer Management and Mentoring

Context:

Volunteerism is a movement and a means of active participation that is extensively supported by European mobility projects. The advantages of volunteering for the greater benefit of larger communities and society in general are indisputable. However, volunteering has also extensive benefits for volunteers and it is promoted as a powerful learning experience and process, especially when under the European Voluntary Service scheme. Nonetheless, it needs a number of processes and measures for it to become a quality experience, both for the volunteer and the hosting organization. The relation amongst Volunteers, Volunteer Managers, Mentors, Sending, Coordinating and Hosting organizations and all the activities surrounding their interaction need to be dealt with a procedure/system, which is referred to as VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT.

“VOLU.M.E” Volunteer Management Enhanced is envisaged as a long-term project which will include a training course + a seminar focused on offering an experience in Volunteer Management to youth workers and volunteers in organizations which already have at least 1 experience as international Hosting organizations (in the EVS program). The term Enhanced promotes the idea of going deeper into Volunteer Management steps, exchanging expertise, good and bad practices, stories, disappointments, etc. It will also deal with the Role of the Mentor of the volunteers, as an important element in the whole learning process.

Aim:

The project (through the combination of the training course and the seminar) aims at developing competencies of youth workers and organisations in Volunteer Management and Mentoring of EVS volunteers. The purpose is to enhance the quality of EVS projects as learning experiences in all levels - from the writing of a project right through the closing and evaluation.
